Camp Big Tree

Who: Open registration is for youth ages 12–16 diagnosed with sensory processing disorders, learning and/or attention deficits and development delays. BOEC requires that all students be fully independent with self-care tasks, or be prepared to bring a “buddy” to camp. Due to the social aspect of outdoor adventures and camping, participants must be ready to enjoy the company of other people.
What: This outdoor adventure focused trip starts and finishes at the BOEC’s Wilderness campus in Breckenridge, CO. We will be onsite the first and last night of camp but in the middle we will travel to the Buena Vista area to set up a base camp. This course is packed with high adventure activities ranging from ropes course, rock climbing, hiking, rafting, and camping. Throughout the course students will be involved in all aspects of camp craft including cooking, cleaning and camp set-up. Through outdoor activities students will have the opportunity to develop social skills, teamwork traits and leadership qualities that will transfer into everyday life.
