Inclusive Dance

Creative art can elevate mood, boost social engagement, and enable freedom of self-expression. Dance in particular has been widely used in communities with Parkinson’s disease and other conditions, resulting in meaningful improvements in symptoms and quality of life. We now bring dance to Spaulding with an adaptable program enabling participants to explore expression and storytelling to music and to discover (or rediscover!) joy in movements.

This class involves a combination of seated and/or standing and improvisational exercises, with dance styles ranging from contemporary to Latin and jazz. The music varies to match, with a focus on soul, funk, disco and more! This will be a gentle dance movement class with a focus on inclusivity for all levels. All exercises are modifiable and adaptable to any level of mobility and comfort.
