Grants & Opportunities

There are a number of fantastic organizations, including the Kelly Brush Foundation, that provide grants and funding to help people with physical disabilities get active. We have assembled a list of a few key programs, but we are always adding more. Know of an opportunity we should include? Let us know!

Kelly Brush Foundation Grants

KBF: Path2Active Scholarships

Getting back into sports after an injury can be challenging. The KBF’s new Path2Active Scholarships provide financial support to individuals who want to try a new sport, test out a piece of equipment, or build skills by attending camps, clinics, or other adaptive sports programs.

Open to people in the US who have suffered traumatic (non-congenital) spinal cord injuries. If this is you, apply here for up to $500 to get you on your Path2Active. Applications are open year-round and are approved on a rolling basis.

KBF: Active Fund Grants

The Kelly Brush Foundation is dedicated to making active lifestyles a reality for anyone with a spinal cord injury. Life is better active! We have helped over 1,500 people from all 50 states purchase handcycles, monoskis, sport chairs, racing chairs, hockey sleds, and much more.

Through the Active Fund, we provide grants for people in the US who have suffered traumatic (non-congenital) spinal cord injuries to purchase adaptive sports equipment. Applications open twice per year, in February and July, and remain open for two months. Decisions are given 8 weeks after the close of the grant period.

High Fives Foundation

Providing resources and inspiration to those who suffer a life-changing injury. Life-changing injuries are injuries such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputation, or other mobility-limiting injuries that occurred in an athlete’s lifetime.

Funding offered to people injured in outdoor sports or inertia-based accidents and wounded veterans. Grants are offered in three cycles annually depending on circumstances of injury.

Challenged Athletes Foundation

“Grants are available for equipment, funding toward equipment, Ossur lower limb athletic prosthesis, cycling club, select gym memberships, and sport expenses (i.e. coaching, travel, training).”

Any individual with a permanent physical disability pursuing an active lifestyle through physical fitness or competitive athletics is eligible. The individual’s permanent disability must impair mobility, affect the neuromuscular system, impair balance, or motor control.

Victoria's Victory Foundation

“Victory Scholarships are committee approved assistance gifts for the following areas of needs: recovery training sessions, in-home nursing services, mobility equipment and home & vehicle modifications.”

Available for those with mobility challenge-related disabilities due to life-altering injuries or diagnosis.
