Denver Indoor Rowing Championships – Colorado

Join Adaptive Adventures at the Denver Rowing Championships! This is a high energy, all day event where you will get to compete against other athletes on Concept 2 Rowing ERGs.

Whether you are new or experienced in the sport of indoor rowing, we invite you join us at the Denver Indoor Rowing Championships. Come cheer on other athletes and show off your own rowing abilities. Athletes should expect to row 2000M alongside other adaptive and able-bodied athletes. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of representing people with disabilities and their supporters.

Leading up to the event, our team coach and mentors will provide the resources and skills necessary to help each individual to reach their highest levels of performance.

Goals:

  • To paddle as an individual as part of one community, supporting our crew and athletes in other groups
  • To increase overall physical fitness and health with a focus on paddling specific muscle groups
  • To foster an inclusive team environment filled with camaraderie
  • To compete in an event that celebrates athletes’ winter training efforts and will prepare athletes for dragon boat season

 

Who can attend?: Individuals with physical disabilities over the age of 18 years old, their family and support members, volunteers and community partners.

Expectations: Must be able to self-transfer up or down by 12+ inches; must be comfortable in close confines with other athletes in loud spaces; must be 18 years or older to participate.

How should I dress & things to bring? : Please wear moisture wicking and comfortable clothing, closed toe shoes, snacks, and a water bottle. Participants are recommended to bring a sweat towel and a change of clothes for after their heats.

Timeliness: All participants, volunteers, and community partners are expected to register for each event, arrive on time, and be prepared for their heats. Please notify staff in case of cancellation, running late, or any other event. Missing a heat will result in a No Time and disqualificaiton from the event.
