Stowe aMTB Weekend

Green Mountain Adaptive Sports is partnering with Adaptive Sports Partners to host the Stowe Annual Adaptive Mountain Bike Weekend on August 23-25, 2024.

This event is limited to athletes riding e-assist mountain bikes. We will have a few demo e-bikes available for people to borrow but riders are expected to bring their own bikes. The general plan is to ride the great trails at Cady Hill Forest in the heart of Stowe, Vermont on Saturday, and join the Race to the Top of Vermont on Sunday.

The event is free, and athletes can choose to participate in one day only, or both days. Be aware that each day requires its own registration regardless. Athletes will also be provided with our brand new GMAS Mountain Bike Jersey free of charge. Volunteers and companions can purchase theirs for $75.

Tentative schedule of events

Friday afternoon, arrival at Goldbrook Campground in Stowe.
Saturday, 10am-4pm, ride at Cady Hill Forest. Please fill out the form below to register for this free event. We will all meet in the Springer-Miller parking lot (NOT the one next to the church, on the other side of the building.) A light lunch, water and snacks will be provided by GMAS.
Saturday, 6pm, dinner at Shakedown Stowe (Stowe Cider). We are trying something new this year and supporting a business that has been endlessly supporting GMAS. Plus there is a large handicap parking, accessible facility, good food and cider. GMAS will make a group reservation but participants are responsible for paying for their meal and drinks.
Sunday, 8am, Race to the Top of Vermont. Read more about this event, AND REGISTER separately for this event here using the special code (24gmascomp) to get a free entry. The event is free for our adaptive athletes only. We will drive to Stowe Mountain Resort and park in the Toll House Lot. The bike race begins there at 10am, but we need to get there at 8am since the area is also used for the start for hundreds of runners at 9am.
Volunteers will ride with the group on e-bikes (to be provided if needed.)
This event is not a race but a group ride. It’s been fun to participate with all the other riders, and the focus remains on fun and safety.
