Hey mountain bikers!
I’m Tracy, an adaptive clothing designer, adaptive kayak guide, and founder of Vollbrecht Adaptive Consulting. One of Vollbrecht Adaptive Consulting’s goals is to make adaptive performance apparel and gear more widely available so that athletes of all levels have easy access to products that work for them and don’t have to hack or customize existing products.

Is there any mountain biking specific gear or apparel you wish you had? Is there any non-adaptive apparel or gear that you’ve found already works well for you or is easily modified to work?

Would love to chat with anyone that has thoughts they want to share around adaptive mountain biking clothing and gear!

Wow, that’s so exciting! I heard Dharco is making some adaptive pants. 7mesh mighr eventually…I’ve only seen one type of ski pants for sit ski and they’re eddie bauer Trevor kennison pants and ate very expensive and not remotely size inclusive.

I would love a pair of mtb pants and shorts that have yoga waistband top like shredly, have a but longer inseam because pants get short when you’re seated. No seams, zippers, or pockets on the butt, front leg/thigh pockets instead of off to the side and crotch zipper for easy catheter access.

As for shirts, generous cut in the shoulders and biceps, maybe a bit longer at the back and shorter at the front.

Also don’t forget the fat kids like to be outside too. I’m a size 18 woman and riding apparel is not easy to get.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jen!

So so helpful! I am going to look into Dharco and 7mesh right now – I hadn’t heard either was getting into the space! So exciting!

Thank you for your insights and feedback. I would love to see Shredly get into this space so I’m going to direct some effort there. If you are interested in being more involved or testing out products when the time comes, please send me an email and I’ll add you to the growing roster I’m building!

Thank you!
