Midwest Ski & Snowboard Program

A ski & snowboard program for individuals in the Midwest region with primary physical or visual disabilities. **By clicking the link below, you will be APPLYING for a position to this program and will automatically be placed on the Waiting List. Due to the limited number of spots Join Adaptive Adventures at Wilmot Mountain Resort for our Midwest Ski & Snowboard Program. Our trained staff and volunteers will teach you the fundamentals of skiing and/or snowboarding in a fun and interactive environment. Whether you are new to snowsports or looking to continue to advance your independence and confidence carving on the slopes, we look forward to helping you achieve your personal goals on the snow.

This year we are offering programs on Monday afternoon (1pm-4pm) and evening (6pm-9pm), as well as Wednesday morning (11am-2pm) and afternoon (4pm-7pm). Beginning this year, all Midwest Ski and Snowboard programs will have a participant application process, by APPLYING HERE, you will be APPLYING for a position to attend the program and will automatically be placed on the Wait List. Due to the limited number of spots available, your application will be reviewed by the Adaptive Adventures staff who will then get in contact with you if you have been selected.**

  • Work 1:1 with a trained adaptive instructor on lesson progressions specific to your ski/snowboard experience and abilities
  • Enjoy community with others
  • Get outside to be active

Who Can Attend?
Any individual with a physical or visual disability. We welcome and can adapt lessons to any ski/snowboard level, whether you are beginner or advanced. Family members are welcome to attend and ski/snowboard with us as well, but please note that the lesson will be provided for the adaptive skiier/snowboarder. **Please note there is a 220lb weight limit for all sit skiers, stand-up skiers and snowboarders. Schedule
Please meet us at the ski school area at Wilmot Mountain. After we connect you with your adaptive instructors for the day, they will assist you with getting equipment and gearing up to get out on the snow.

What Can I Expect?
Upon applying for a position to this program, you will receive a confirmation email with additional steps/instructions. Please complete these next steps (once per season) as soon as possible in order for your application to be considered. If you are not sure if you have completed the next steps, please email the contact listed below. If your application is accepted, you will receive an email to complete your registration and pay the $50 fee (for civilians w/ disability and any friends/family members.) If you are notified of acceptance, please complete your registration within 48 hours, or your spot may be given to the next applicant on the waitlist. All Adaptive Adventures programs are free of charge for Military Veterans thanks to the VA Adaptive Sports Grant, Disabled American Veterans Service Trust and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Adaptive Adventures will provide an opportunity to learn to ski/snowboard or improve upon existing abilities. All participants will experience one-on-one lessons and will be provided adaptive equipment as needed.

How Should I Dress? & Things to Bring
Come dressed and prepared to spend some time on the snow! Make sure that you are checking the forecast and come prepared to be outside in whatever weather Mother Nature gives us! Timeliness
We make every effort to adhere to our schedule. We ask that you respect the scheduled times and arrive no later than 11:00am. If you are going to be late or can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible.
